About Us

We are a small, family-based aviary located in Central Massachusetts. We named our aviary after our beloved pet bird “Eddie”. My husband calls him the “Chief Chirper”. We breed and exhibit three species of parrot that we believe make wonderful pets, the Lineolated Parakeet (also affectionately called a “Linnie”), the Bourke’s Parakeet, and English Budgerigars (Budgies). These breeds of parrot can be difficult to find, especially hand tame. We ship via United Airlines Petsafe program only. If you don’t see what you are looking for, we are happy to put you on our waiting list. Contact Us to see if something new just hasn’t been listed yet.

Birds make wonderful family pets. Young children should always be supervised as birds are delicate.

Birds are an important part of our family. They bring us immense joy. We want to share this happiness with others by providing a hand fed and tame bird that they can enjoy for years.

I believe that the Lineolated, and the Australian Grasskeets that we raise are species of bird that make life with a bird very positive. They are VERY quiet for a parrot (especially the Bourkes) and therefore make wonderful apartment birds. They are very sweet when hand raised and tamed. Linnie’s and Budgies have a very fun, playful personality and love to cuddle. There is nothing better than a tame, snuggly and QUIET parrot. We have an entire section of our home that was built for our birds, but most people share the main portion of their home with their parrots. There is nothing more terrible than keeping a cage covered all day because you are trying to keep your bird quiet. These birds come in many color mutations and are very beautiful to look at as well.

See our “Philosophy” page to read about the high ethical standards that we practice, and how we pair our birds to put health and size of the bird above color. We are open to sales to other breeders as we understand the importance of out-crossing and keeping new blood in your lines. We are happy to let the parents raise a baby that you may want to keep as a breeder if you prefer. We keep impeccable records with the hobby benchmark software, Zoo Easy.

The birds bred here will be closed leg banded for identification should your bird ever be lost or stolen. Our leg bands are purchased through a national club and are registered. The bands have our aviary code, a number to identify the individual, as well as the state code (Linnies only) and hatch year. The birds are DNA tested upon request and will come with that paperwork as well as an Aviary hatch certificate. Many of our birds may not require a DNA test as they may be a sex linked mutation. This can make early identification of what we have in the nest box, so please ask. We are happy to disease test any birds upon request as well. All our new stock has been tested

We are members of the Lineolated Parrot Society (LPS), the Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors (SPBE) and two local clubs (Birds Of A Feather (BOAF) and the North East Avicultural Society (NEAS). We believe that staying involved in the hobby keeps us passionate and up to date on what is going on in the bird world.

We are always open to questions and invite you to ask anything you like. Thanks for checking us out and considering the purchase of one of our terrific birds.
